April 1 - Mark 14:27-72

The Last Supper and the events described in this chapter happened the day before Jesus' crucifixion which is Thursday (today of Holy Week).

In just a matter of few hours all of the schemes of humankind come to play out and even the disciples will come to know something about this Jesus they never did before.

Verses 27-31 Peter and all the others insisted that they wouldn't turn their backs on Jesus. Yet, once given the opportunity the others ran away and Peter denied even speaking curses.

As Jesus prays a hard prayer at Gethsemane he is taken away and arrested. He is betrayed with a kiss...
As he stands before the Sanhedrin it is obvious they have no idea how to accuse Jesus and none of it makes sense. They have no case yet Jesus is being accused.

Continue to meditate and think upon the events that occurred before His crucifixion. What was on His mind? What do these false accusations, betrayals, ultimate physical death and His separation from the Father God mean for us today? If we are saved, what does this salvation mean?
