A little background on 2 Corintians
Romans was a general letter that was circulated widely to all Christians..
2 Corinthians is a letter to the church at Corinth (a metropolitan ancient city known for its wealth, its arts, its roads...) It was a major city.
And after Paul left Corinth, divisions arose in Corinth. People had argued about issues like circumcision, Gentiles versus Jews, which leader to follow (Apollos, Paul, etc.). There were a lot of divisions in this church and this letter attempts to bring people back to the core of what really matters.
In the midst of the confusion and suffering caused by factions and divisions - may God comfort us all. For He is our comforter in this time of distress. And sometimes, even these discomforts (because we know that our lives are in His hands) are for our growth and salvation...
May God's comfort be with us all...
i learned about Corinth in my Roman chapter.
ReplyDeleteCorinth and other greek city states refused to obey a Roman law so Corinth was burned.

God is always there to comfort us which is a really good feeling. wer never alone and i feel safe and secure with Him by my side. we dont have to worry about anything because hes controlling our lives for what He has planned for us.
