There is a lot being said here and it is pretty straight forward. What is God saying to you today? Was there a particular tugging at your heart as you were reading?
v. 18 If it is possible - live at peace with everyone. Sometimes you've done all you can and there's nothing more you can do. Then leave it be.
v. 21 do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.
About heaping burning coals: fiery coals were seen as a sign of God's judgment. So if you serve your enemy it's kind of like clearing yourself of God's judgment in regards to that. In other words - in life you can't avoid people who will dislke you but that doesn't mean you have to return that hatred - leave vengeance for God. That's His job. Just be as lameless and honorable in your own actions.
if someone hates you, its a common fact that you will do the same. but God tells us no. lets me do the bad stufff and you just leave and let it be. you dont have to hate back..
